In the cold climate of New Year, Ban Moi commune (Suoi Giang, Yen Bai), each day, welcomes hundreds of visitors everywhere to admire the beauty of the first gardens of buckwheat in the province.
The first gardens of buckwheat in Yen Bai
This garden of buckwheat is planted by Mr Vang A Khua. In October, 2015, taking part in the buckwheat festival in Ha Giang, Mr Khua learned how to plant and how to do tourism of ethnic Hmong in Ha Giang. Then he bought 10kg seed of buckwheat for trials in the family’s garden.
Thanks to the climate, the flower grows well. Until early January, the gardens were blooming fully. His family is excited because the beautiful blooming flowers attracted many tourists to admire.
The tourism potential of buckwheat garden
On January 4th, his family started to open the garden. On average, each day has around 200 visitors coming here, on Saturdays or Sundays this number maybe up to 300 visitors.
Visiting the garden of buckwheat, tourists not only admire the beauty of the flower but also borrowed Hmong ethnic’s costumes to take pictures and walking around the romantic and attractive ancient tea garden.
Fares to visit garden is from 15,000-20,000 VND / person, so that every day his family’s income is about several millions.
Guests to visit are the people coming from the city of Yen Bai, Tram Tau, Nghia Lo, Mu Cang Chai and Hanoi. Everyone enjoy the beauty of the flowers which are featured in northwest region.
