Cat Ba island – the most attractive destinations in Northeast
Cat Ba Island is luxuriant by green trees which covering the jagged cliffs. It is a great place for you to explore the island and limestone columns of Lan Ha Bay. As the expansion of Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay is equally beautiful and this place does not have many visitors.
Not only that, in Cat Ba Island, you can participate in many activities: hiking, biking or kayaking. Half of this 354-square-kilometer island has been preserved as a national park, which is also home to the golden headed langur left in the world. These crags here are also voted as the ideal location to learn mountain climbing in Asia.
Ba Be National Park
Most visitors coming to the Northeast often overlook the sea, but those who like hiking will find a suitable site for their needs here. Those who have been to Ba Be National Park will have an opportunity to experience challenging climbing, watching the tranquil lake surrounded by craggy peaks.
Systems of consecutive three lakes is the heart of this park, bringing exciting experiences such as boating, kayaking in Ba Be lake. These travelers liking outdoor activities will enjoy the climbing routes across tropical jungle. Ba Be is also home of 13 different ethnic groups, the little fishing villages. You can rest overnight in simple wooden houses.
Bai Tu Long Bay
The limestone not only appears in Halong Bay but also stretches along northeast coast and extends to the border of Vietnam – China. It is known as Bai Tu Long Bay, a beautiful landscape, but less famous than Halong Bay. To experience all the beauty of this place, visitors should choose the form of excursions on the boat.
However, because it is not popular, the number of ships and trains here is not much. And if only boating, you will not be able to look at all of the topographic limestone landscape in here.
Ban Gioc waterfall
The scenery here with the craggy limestone hills is one of the rare beautiful landscapes that you do not want to ignore.
Ban Gioc waterfall – the most famous landmarks of the province, where you can paddle to reach the falls. Near Ban Gioc waterfall is Nguom Ngao cave, which means the cave of tiger – a magnificent cave system of Vietnam, with a lot of beautiful stalagmites and stalactites. The people who love history can explore further in Pac Bo cave, located in the west of Cao Bang to learn about the revolutionary life of Ho Chi Minh president from 1941.
